Este disco completa el ciclo de conciertos de Prokofiev con la Orquesta Filarmónica de Londres y Alexander Lazarev. El Primer Concierto lanzó la carrera del joven compositor; lo escribió para su concierto de graduación (su interpretación le valió el primer premio) y su espíritu juvenil y virtuosismo lo convierten en un éxito instantáneo. Los Conciertos Cuarto y Quinto son menos conocidos, aunque con el Quinto es difícil ver por qué. El Cuarto fue escrito para el pianista manco Paul Wittgenstein, a quien no le gustó (¡tampoco le gustó el Concierto para la mano izquierda de Ravel!) y se negó a interpretarlo; por lo tanto, solo recientemente se ha retomado la obra.
