«Pleyel: Symphonies (1778-1786)» is the album by Ignace Pleyel, released in 2000 by Naxos Deutschland GmbH, on CD.
The disc brings together three symphonies by Ignace Pleyel composed between 1778 and 1786, in his most fertile period. The Capella Istropolitana, conducted by Uwe Grodd, performs works in C major, F minor and C minor: the last two evoke Haydn's Sturm und Drang, and the first includes one of his most beautiful slow movements.
Recorded between 1 and 4 June 1999 at the Moyzes Hall of the Slovak Philharmonic in Bratislava. Total duration: 74:33. Catalogue number Naxos 8.554696. One CD.
