«Piano Quartets» is the album by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart performed by Richard Burnett and members of the Salomon String Quartet, released on CD by Amon Ra.
The album brings together Mozart's two piano quartets: the Quartet in G minor K478 and the Quartet in E flat major K493. Richard Burnett plays a period fortepiano and members of the Salomon String Quartet accompany him on original instruments, from the opening Allegro to the final Allegretto.
Richard Burnett plays a fortepiano by Michael Rosenberger (Vienna, c. 1798), with Simon Standage on violin, Trevor Jones on viola and Jennifer Ward Clarke on cello. Catalogue: CD-SAR 31.
Recommended for classical music enthusiasts who value historically informed performances and Mozart's chamber repertoire.
