«Peer Gynt» is the musical story album by Edvard Grieg and Carmen Santonja, published by Agruparte Ediciones España on CD with a teaching guide.
The CD presents the adventures and misadventures of a roguish, fanciful character who never grew up, based on Henrik Ibsen's play. Carmen Santonja adapts the story, Fernando Palacios narrates it, and the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Adrian Leaper, performs passages from Grieg's Suites No. 1 and No. 2.
It belongs to the collection of musical stories for reading and listening; the CD contains the narrated story (33' 58") and a selection of Grieg's suites without text (23' 09").
Designed for children, young people and adults who want to approach classical music through a narrated story.
