«Pasión Española» is the album of coplas by Plácido Domingo, released in 2008 by Deutsche Grammophon on CD.
The album brings together Spanish coplas, a genre of popular song that condenses stories of love, jealousy, mourning, loneliness and pride into a few minutes. Plácido Domingo sings with the Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid and includes versions of «Falsa moneda», «La bien pagá» and «Ojos verdes».
José María Gallardo del Rey plays solo guitar and Miguel Roa conducts the Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid. Among the composers are Juan Mostazo Morales and Manuel López-Quiroga y Miquel.
For those who enjoy Spanish copla and the voice of Plácido Domingo, as well as melodic song with orchestral accompaniment.
