«Ottavo libro di madrigali» is the album by Sigismondo d'India, released in 1996 by Stradivarius, on CD.
The eighth book of madrigals by Sigismondo d'India, composed in 1624, is an example of early Baroque secular vocal music. The Insieme Vocale Daltrocanto, conducted by Dario Tabbia, performs these madrigals with a reading that highlights their contrapuntal writing and the expressiveness of the Italian text. The recording offers a journey through the Italian madrigal of the early 17th century.
The work is sung in Italian and the CD consists of a single disc. The Stradivarius label identifies this production with the reference SIN 33418.
Intended for fans of classical music and early vocal repertoire, particularly the Italian madrigal of the early Baroque.
