«Orchestral Suites 1-4» is the album by Johann Sebastian Bach with the Stuttgarter Kammerorchester, conducted by Karl Münchinger, from 1995, on Decca CD.
The four orchestral suites (BWV 1066-1069) by Johann Sebastian Bach combine overtures with dances typical of the Baroque: courantes, gavottes, bourrées and minuets. They include famous passages such as the Air from Suite No. 3 and the Badinerie from Suite No. 2.
Recorded in January 1985 at the Karlshöe Chapel in Ludwigsburg (Germany). Edition from Decca's Eclipse series with catalogue number 448 231-2; total duration, 78:17.
Will appeal to fans of Baroque music and chamber orchestral recordings.
