This 4-CD box set, 'Musiques Sacrées Missionnaires: De la Cordillère des Andes à l'Amazonie', is an essential anthology that rescues the richness of Latin American Baroque music. Under the direction of Gabriel Garrido, the Ensemble Elyma and the Coro de Niños Cantores de Córdoba perform masterpieces by composers such as Domenico Zipoli and Juan de Araujo, recovered from the ancient Jesuit missions in Bolivia. This collection offers a fascinating journey through sacred music composed during the colonial period, highlighting the cultural fusion and technical brilliance of the era.
