«Mundo» is the studio album by Panamanian artist Rubén Blades, released in 2002 by Sony Music on CD.
The album combines Afro-Cuban rhythms with rock, folk and jazz textures, Celtic and Eastern music, with lyrics addressing social and personal issues from a mature perspective. The recording, made in Costa Rica, integrates instruments such as bagpipes and didgeridoo alongside a salsa base, expanding the characteristic sound of its author.
This European CD edition of an album (catalogue COL 498719 2) went on sale on 16 September 2002.
For those who enjoy Latin fusion and the songbook of Rubén Blades; more purist salsa followers may prefer his earlier works.
