«Missa Salisburgensis» is the album by Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber, released in 1991 by Deutsche Harmonia Mundi, on CD.
The Missa Salisburgensis is a large-scale Baroque mass, written for numerous voices and instruments. The recording brings together the Escolanía de Montserrat, the Tölzer Knabenchor and the Collegium Aureum under the direction of Ireneu Segarra, and offers a solemn rendition of Baroque sacred music.
This version corresponds to the Deutsche Harmonia Mundi edition, with the work for 53 voices, the text in Latin and a single CD.
For classical and choral music listeners interested in the Baroque and in large polyphonic masses.
