«Messe E-moll / Requiem Op.84» is the sacred music album by Anton Bruckner and Josef Gabriel Rheinberger, released in 2008 by Carus on CD.
The programme unites two choral works of Romanticism: Bruckner's Mass in E minor, which combines Palestrina's polyphonic tradition with the expressive resources of his time, and Rheinberger's Requiem in E-flat major Op. 84, simple liturgical music of high artistic standard.
The recording is by the Kammerchor Saarbrücken and the Kammerphilharmonie Mannheim, conducted by Georg Grün. Edition from the Carus label, catalogue number 83.414.
For lovers of Romantic choral music and chamber versions of the 19th-century sacred repertoire.
