«Elijah» is the album by Felix Mendelssohn, released in 1998 by HMV Classics, on double CD.
The oratorio narrates episodes from the life of the prophet Elijah, with choruses, arias and orchestral passages that place it as a representative choral work of Romanticism and of the sacred and symphonic tradition.
Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos conducts the New Philharmonia Orchestra, the New Philharmonia Chorus and the Wandsworth School Boys' Choir. The recording includes 42 tracks and lasts almost 140 minutes.
For classical music listeners, especially those seeking great Romantic choral works.
