«Maria» is Cecilia Bartoli's tribute to Maria Malibran, an icon of Romanticism and muse of bel canto; it brings together scenes by Bellini, Pacini, Mendelssohn and Manuel García, several in recordings published for the first time, such as an aria from Pacini's opera Irene. It includes the famous «Casta Diva» from Norma, «Infelice», a duet with Maxim Vengerov, and «Yo que soy contrabandista».
Recorded with the Orchestra La Scintilla, conducted by Adam Fischer, and with the participation of Luca Pisaroni. Limited edition.
