«Preludes and Fugue for 13 Solo Strings, Three Postludes, Fanfares» is the album with works by Polish composer Witold Lutosławski, released by Naxos on CD.
The CD brings together three works by Witold Lutosławski: the Preludes and Fugue for 13 solo strings, the Three Postludes and the Fanfares. Composed between 1970 and 1972, the Preludes and Fugue explore controlled aleatory procedures and allow abridged versions; the Three Postludes mark a milestone in the composer's harmonic language.
Performed by the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Antoni Wit, the album was released in 2001 and is part of Naxos's Orchestral Works series (volume 7, catalogue 8.555270).
