«Lush Life: The Music of Billy Strayhorn» is the jazz album by saxophonist Joe Henderson, released in 1992 on Verve, on CD.
Joe Henderson pays tribute to Billy Strayhorn, composer and arranger inseparable from Duke Ellington, with a repertoire of Strayhorn's signature pieces. Henderson's tenor sax dialogues with small ensembles in pieces such as «Isfahan», «Blood Count» and «Lotus Blossom», and the final reading of «Lush Life» closes the tribute.
In a post-bop style, the album was recorded in 1991 and issued as a single CD.
For jazz fans and for tributes to composers such as Billy Strayhorn.
