«Lord of the Rings» is Andy Street's album of covers inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, released by New Sound 2000 Ltd. on CD.
The album offers a musical journey through Middle-earth in covers inspired by Celtic, classical and stage music. It does not include the original film soundtrack: it is a collection of pieces based on Tolkien's novel, intended as fantasy sound ambience.
Single disc; catalogue reference NEW227. The cover subtitle alludes to the inspiration in Tolkien's work.
Aimed at listeners of Celtic and ambient music, as well as Tolkien readers seeking a sonic approach to The Lord of the Rings.
