«Lo Gai Saber: Troubadours & Trouveres» is the medieval music album by Camerata Mediterranea, conducted by Joël Cohen, released in 1991 by Erato on CD.
The CD brings together songs and poems by troubadours and trouvères from the 12th and 13th centuries, with works attributed to Peire Vidal, Bernart de Ventadorn, the Countess of Dia and other authors, some anonymous. The versions, the result of musicological reconstruction, combine voices with lute, cittern, percussion, harp, vielle and rebec.
DDD digital recording. The musical reconstructions are by Joël Cohen, with philological advice from Pierre Bec; the booklet includes the original texts.
For fans of medieval music and historically informed performances of the troubadour repertoire.
