«La Gondola» is the album by Antonio Buzzolla, released in 2000 by Rivo Alto, on CD.
The album brings together fifteen Venetian barcarolles, ariettas and canzonettas composed by Antonio Buzzolla, a journey through the Venetian chamber vocal repertoire of the mid-19th century. The pieces, for voice and piano, evoke the landscape of the canals of Venice and are performed by bass-baritone Lorenzo Regazzo with Dimitri Romano on piano.
Antonio Buzzolla (1815-1871) is the composer. The cover adds the subtitle «Barcarole e ariette veneziane per canto e pianoforte»; the edition is a single CD, sung in Italian.
For lovers of classical music and historical vocal rarities.
