«Karimbo» is the debut album by Mozambican group Mabulu, released in 2000 by Riverboat Records (World Music Network), on CD.
Karimbo, Mabulu's first work, was born during the 2000 floods in Mozambique and turns marrabenta, the country's urban dance rhythm, into a fusion with local rap. It brings together musicians from different generations and, with production by Roland Hohberg, offers a sonic portrait of Southeast African culture.
Total duration is 48 minutes and the catalogue number is TUG CD 1021; it corresponds to the edition published in the UK.
For those interested in world music and Afro-fusion who want to explore current African sounds.
