«Kaffee- und Bauernkantate, Messen BWV 234 & 236» is the compilation album by Johann Sebastian Bach, released in 2008 by EMI, on double CD.
The programme combines two secular cantatas by Bach: the Kaffee-Kantate, a satire on the habit of drinking coffee, and the Bauernkantate, rural in setting and festive in tone. They are completed by the Lutheran masses BWV 234 and 236.
German edition on two CDs with DDD recordings, published by EMI Classics. The Linde-Consort and the Basler Madrigalisten perform under the direction of Hans-Martin Linde.
For listeners of Baroque classical music who appreciate period-instrument performances and Bach's vocal repertoire.
