«Im Krebsgang» is the novel by Günter Grass published by Der Hörverlag as an audio CD, read in full by the author in German (9 CDs).
Paul Pokriefke, a journalist born on a lifeboat the night of the Wilhelm Gustloff sinking in 1945, retraces the traces of that catastrophe. Grass interweaves his mother's memory, anchored to that moment, with his son's turn towards the far right of the internet and the denial of German suffering during the war.
Edition published on 30 April 2002. Complete reading (Vollständige Lesung) by the author himself.
Aimed at listeners with sufficient German to follow a dense novel, interested in Günter Grass's narrative and the historical memory of the 20th century.
