«Illustrated Musical Encyclopedia» is the album by Ryuichi Sakamoto, released in 1986 on CD.
The album fuses experimental electronics with melodic passages of classical inspiration, crossing synth-pop with abstract textures, downtempo rhythms and fusion elements, with piano and synthesizers as the basis of the sound.
The cover shows the Japanese title 音楽図鑑 and the artist's name in kanji and English. It is the CD reissue of Ongaku Zukan, original 1984 album, with a single disc.
For listeners of eighties synth-pop and experimental electronics, as well as for followers of Sakamoto's solo career.
