«Il Pastor Fido» is Antonio Vivaldi's album with the sonatas for flute and basso continuo Op. 13, released in 1993 by Naxos on CD.
It brings together six Baroque sonatas for transverse flute and basso continuo with dance movements such as Tempo di Gavotta, Pastorale and Fuga da Capella. Its authorship is doubtful: the 1737 Paris edition attributes it to Vivaldi, but a 1749 document points to Nicolas Chédeville. Performers are Béla Drahos, Pál Kelemen and Zsuzsa Pertis.
Recorded at the Unitarian church in Budapest from 7 to 10 December 1991. DDD CD with catalogue number 8.550648 and a duration of 64'13"; the cover reproduces a painting by Antoine Watteau.
For fans of Baroque music and chamber repertoire with flute, viola and harpsichord.
