«I Remember Miles» is Shirley Horn's tribute album to Miles Davis, released in 1998 by Verve on CD.
Shirley Horn, vocals and piano, pays homage to Miles Davis with a repertoire of standards associated with the trumpeter, such as 'My Funny Valentine', 'Summertime' and 'Blue in Green'. The album revisits pieces Horn performed when she opened for Davis's quintet at the Village Vanguard and includes three songs from 'Porgy and Bess'.
Ron Carter and Al Foster, former Davis collaborators, take part alongside Roy Hargrove and Toots Thielemans. Produced by Shirley Horn and Richard Seidel; cover art by Miles Davis.
Recommended for vocal jazz fans and for Miles Davis followers who want to hear the trumpeter's repertoire in Shirley Horn's rendition.
