«Hofmann: Flute Concertos Vol. 1» is the album of flute concertos by Leopold Hofmann, released in 2001 by Naxos on CD.
Leopold Hofmann (1738-1793) wrote about sixty concertos, thirteen of them for flute; this volume brings together several, probably from the 1760s. The highly idiomatic solo writing combines fast passages with delicate ornamentation. Performers are Kazunori Seo and the Nicolaus Esterházy Sinfonia conducted by Béla Drahos.
1-disc CD with catalogue number 8.554747 and DDD digital recording; edition published by Naxos Deutschland GmbH.
Will appeal to fans of Viennese Classical music and concertos for solo instrument.
