«Groove Elation» is the jazz album by guitarist John Scofield, released in 1995 by Blue Note Records on CD.
The album combines contemporary jazz and funk, with John Scofield's guitar at the core and support from Larry Goldings on organ and piano, Dennis Irwin on bass and Idris Muhammad on drums, plus horns and percussion. The repertoire, with tracks like «Lazy», «Carlos» and «Groove Elation», leaves room for groove and improvisation.
All ten compositions are by John Scofield. Produced by Lee Townsend, with Susan Scofield as executive producer; the album was recorded at Power Station and mixed at River Sound, New York.
Will appeal to listeners of contemporary jazz, acid jazz and fusion, and to those who appreciate the sound of guitar and organ.
