«God Save the Smithereens» is the album by The Smithereens, released in 1999 by Koch Records, on CD.
The Smithereens' album adopts a melancholic and elegiac tone: the cover, a sepia image with a funereal atmosphere and the inscription '1950 - ?', anticipates songs that blend power pop and alternative rock. Highlights include 'Gloomy Sunday', a cover of someone else's song, 'House at the End of the World' and 'The Last Good Time'.
The album contains 13 songs on a single CD, produced by Don Fleming. The lyrics are in English. Catalogue number: KRC-CD-8057.
For fans of The Smithereens and the American power pop scene of the 90s.
