«Gaua» is the jazz album by pianist and composer Mikel Azpiroz, released in 2013 by Mamusik, on CD.
Gaua belongs to an intimate, tranquil jazz. Mikel Azpiroz steps away from his more rhythmic facets and presents compositions for solo piano with a stripped-down production, where the melodic line conveys a serene, nocturnal atmosphere. The piano remains the sole expressive vehicle, and the result invites a relaxed listening experience, close to the stillness of the night.
It was recorded at the Auditori Pau Casals, and the CD edition, published in Spain, carries the catalogue number Mamusik 5.
For those who prefer intimate jazz and solo piano performances, with a calm and minimalist listening experience.
