«Funk Carioca» is the Brazilian funk compilation presented by Slum Dunk, mixed by Tetine and released in 2005 by Mr Bongo, on CD.
It brings together a selection of tracks from funk carioca, the danceable sound born in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro. The songs combine electronic beats, samples and raw lyrics that portray Brazilian urban life, with the genre's characteristic gritty energy and infectious rhythm.
The imported edition consists of a single disc and its release date is 15 November 2005.
For listeners interested in Brazilian music and electronic funk, and for those looking to expand a collection beyond bossa nova and samba.
