«Evening Song» is the jazz album by Paolo Fresu and Furio Di Castri, released in 2001 by Emarcy on CD.
The album brings together fourteen pieces of contemporary jazz with an intimate and experimental feel: Fresu's flugelhorn and Di Castri's double bass dialogue with the cello and subtle electronic textures. It alternates standards like 'Stella by Starlight' and 'My Funny Valentine' with original compositions, creating melancholic and sophisticated landscapes.
Originally recorded in 1991, the album was reissued in 2001 in a remastered version on a single CD.
For fans of contemporary European jazz who value intimate atmospheres and unhurried improvisations.
