«Elgar, Berg: Violin Concertos» is the album by Kyung Wha Chung and Sir Georg Solti, released in 1997 by Decca on CD.
The disc brings together two very different violin concertos: Elgar's, with its neo-Romantic breadth and expansive melody, and Berg's, with expressive tension and more modern writing. Kyung Wha Chung is the soloist and Sir Georg Solti conducts the two orchestras, in a recording that contrasts the sound worlds of both composers.
The recording features the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Edition from Decca's Ovation series, catalogue number 452 696-2.
For classical music fans who want to hear Kyung Wha Chung and Sir Georg Solti in violin concerto repertoire.
