«Earthy» is the jazz album by Prestige All Stars reissued on CD in 1991 by Original Jazz Classics.
Earthy brings together seven musicians from the jazz scene of the fifties: Art Farmer, Al Cohn, Hal McKusick, Kenny Burrell, Mal Waldron, Teddy Kotick and Ed Thigpen. The album collects five bop and hard bop pieces recorded in Hackensack in 1957, including «Earthy», «What's Not» and «Dayee».
The recording was done by Rudy Van Gelder in Hackensack and the digital remastering by Gary Hobish in 1991. Edition from the Original Jazz Classics Limited Edition Series, in mono (OJCCD-1707-2).
This CD reissue is aimed at jazz collectors and fans of classic Prestige hard bop.
