«Dry & Heavy» is the roots reggae album by Burning Spear, originally released in 1977 by Island Records and reissued on CD.
The album shows Burning Spear in a deep-sounding reggae vein, with production and arrangements by Winston Rodney. Its sustained rhythmic pulse and dense texture define a classic of seventies reggae, and this reissue has kept it as a genre reference.
The reissue consists of a single disc and was released in Europe under the Mango and Reggae Refreshers labels; the songs are in English.
For reggae music collectors with an interest in Burning Spear's work and fans of the classic seventies sound.
