«Drowning by Numbers» is the album by Michael Nyman with the soundtrack of the eponymous film by Peter Greenaway, released by Virgin on CD in 1988.
Michael Nyman's music for Peter Greenaway's film moves between classicism and contemporary music, with an evocative tone that accompanies the filmmaker's visual universe. These are instrumental pieces of repetitive texture, at once elegant and sober, that also work as a standalone work outside the film.
Audio CD with one disc. The cover reproduces the title and the credit «A Film by Peter Greenaway».
