«Dreamette» is the album by Crowsdell, released in 1995 on Big Cat, on CD.
Dreamette combines alternative rock and indie rock with jangly guitars and a female vocalist; the approach plays with the contrast between gentle melody and unsettling lyrics. The album cover, a collage of portraits and domestic scenes, reinforces that nostalgic and disconcerting atmosphere. The track 'Sad Eyes' condenses that mix well.
There are two 1995 editions: a European one with code ABB83CD and a German one with code RTD 131.3061.2.
For listeners of 90s indie rock with an affinity for jangly guitars and female vocalists, in the vein of Pavement or The Softies.
