«Divan» is the debut album by Orient Expressions, released in 2004 by Doublemoon, on CD.
Orient Expressions' first work places Istanbul's downtempo electronica alongside Turkish and Kurdish folk airs. Bağlama and ney coexist with modern beats across thirteen tracks, with guest vocals from Aynur Doğan and Sabahat Akkiraz; pieces like «Istanbul», «Beats of Pera» or «Kerkk Divan» sum up that crossover between Anatolian tradition and urban pulse.
The CD Digipak edition published by Doublemoon contains vocals in Turkish and Kurdish across thirteen tracks.
For fans of downtempo electronica and world music rooted in Turkish and Kurdish folk.
