«Die Passionen» is the compilation by Johann Sebastian Bach, released in 2022 by Carus, in a 6-CD box set.
It brings together Bach's three Passions: the St John Passion (BWV 245, 1749 version), the St Matthew Passion (BWV 244) and the reconstruction of the St Mark Passion (BWV 247). In the latter, actor Dominique Horwitz recites the Gospel in place of the lost recitatives.
The performances are by the Gaechinger Cantorey, the Kammerchor Stuttgart, amarcord and the Kölner Akademie, with Hans-Christoph Rademann, Frieder Bernius and Michael Alexander Willens. Sung in German.
An edition aimed at fans of Baroque music, especially the great choral works and passions of Johann Sebastian Bach.
