«Comfort for the Traveler» is the second album by Utah Carol, released in 2002 on Munich Records, on CD.
The album combines art pop, folk, indie rock and Americana, with boy-girl vocal harmonies that alternate sweetness and unease. The songs speak of longing, unfulfilled dreams and a constant search for the unattainable, with vintage organs, orchestral layers, synthesizers, loops and guitars creating an exuberant instrumentation.
Utah Carol is the duo formed by Grant Birkenbeuel and JinJa Davis. The CD edition contains 15 songs.
Recommended for fans of The Beach Boys, Yo La Tengo and The Carter Family.
