«Clutching at Straws» is the album by British neo-progressive rock band Marillion, released in 1987 by EMI on vinyl LP.
Fourth studio album by Marillion and the last with their original vocalist, Fish. Its lyrics portray a touring musician, with an introspective atmosphere and a blend of symphonic rock and more direct moments. Songs like «Incommunicado» and «Sugar Mice» condense that tension between pop sensibility and symphonic development.
Studio album originally released in 1987. Single-disc vinyl LP edition.
Will appeal to fans of 1980s symphonic progressive rock and collectors of Marillion, especially from the Fish era.
