«Carmen» is the recording of the eponymous opera by Georges Bizet, conducted by Alexander Rahbari and released by Naxos as a 3-CD album.
The work recreates the passion between Carmen, a free and temperamental woman, and the soldier Don José; the arrival of the bullfighter Escamillo fuels José's jealousy and precipitates a tragic ending. It is an opera in four acts with a libretto by Henri Meilhac and Ludovic Halévy.
Naxos Opera Classics series, number 8.660005-7. Recording made in Bratislava in July 1990 with Alperyn, Lamberti, Titus and Palade, the Slovak Philharmonic Choir and the Czechoslovak Radio Symphony Orchestra.
