«Carioca» is the Latin and contemporary jazz album by Brazilian guitarist Carioca (Ronaldo Leite De Freitas), released in 1993 by Carmo on CD.
The music of «Carioca» moves between contemporary jazz and Latin rhythms, with the guitar as its core and arrangements adding piano, organ, flute and voice. Egberto Gismonti plays flute and Rosaly sings, in an album defined by the dialogue between the guitar and its guests.
The album was recorded and mixed at Porão studio in March 1984 and June 1991; this CD is a reissue published in Germany with SPARS AAD code.
An album for fans of contemporary jazz and Brazilian guitar, with the added appeal of Egberto Gismonti's participation.
