«Brandenburg Concertos 1-3» is the album by Johann Sebastian Bach performed by the English Chamber Orchestra and Benjamin Britten, on CD, released in 1990.
The CD brings together the first three Brandenburg Concertos (BWV 1046, 1047 and 1048) by Johann Sebastian Bach, in chamber versions with the English Chamber Orchestra. Fast movements, dialogues between soloists and slow passages such as the Adagio of No. 1 alternate; the opening Allegro of No. 2 and the final Allegro assai of No. 3 stand out.
The original recording is from 1969 (Decca); this CD edition, from 1990, was released with the catalogue number 425 725-2 in the Serenata series.
Aimed at fans of classical and baroque music, particularly those who appreciate chamber orchestral versions of Johann Sebastian Bach.
