«Blue Breakbeats» is the compilation by Lou Donaldson, released in 1998 by Blue Note, on CD.
«Blue Breakbeats» brings together tracks by Lou Donaldson for Blue Note with a sound between soul-jazz and jazz-funk. Tracks like 'Turtle Walk', 'Pot Belly' and 'One Cylinder' showcase the artist's alto sax over a persistent rhythmic foundation, a sound that breakbeat culture has widely exploited.
«Blue Breakbeats» consists of a single disc and six tracks.
«Blue Breakbeats» is for jazz and funk fans, and for Blue Note collectors seeking the rhythmic foundations of breakbeat.
