«Beethoven: Symphonies 3 & 8» is the album by Günter Wand and the North German Radio Orchestra, released by RCA Classics on CD.
The CD brings together two Beethoven symphonies: No. 3 'Eroica', one of the most innovative works in the symphonic repertoire, and No. 8, shorter and light in spirit. Wand's conducting, sober and unadorned, seeks to let the music shine on its own, with measured tempi and a balanced orchestral sound.
