«Basie Jam 2» is the jazz album by Count Basie, released in 1991 by Concord Records on CD.
Basie Jam 2 documents a jam session led by Count Basie, with guests such as Clark Terry, Joe Pass and Louis Bellson. Several of them had played with Basie's orchestra and share a common vocabulary of swing and blues. The rapport between soloists and rhythmic fluency make this session a practical lesson in classic jazz.
Reissue on remastered CD within the Original Jazz Classics series, catalogue number OJCCD-631-2.
Recommended for fans of swing and classic jazz jam sessions, with an interest in Count Basie's big bands.
