«Baïda» is the debut raï and chanson album by Algerian singer Faudel, released by PolyGram on CD.
Faudel's first work, in which traditional raï blends with pop arrangements and a touch of French chanson. The lyrics, in French and Arabic, speak of love and everyday life, and the whole celebrates Algerian culture; it was the album that brought the singer to international attention.
The French CD edition has one disc and the reference 558 311-2, released by Sankara/Mercury together with PolyGram.
Will appeal to fans of raï and Algerian music, as well as those wanting to discover Faudel's first album.
