«Back to Back» is the jazz and blues album by Duke Ellington and Johnny Hodges, released on CD in 2010 by Essential Jazz Classics.
The subtitle «Play the Blues» indicates the album's focus: a blues repertoire in which Duke Ellington and Johnny Hodges share the spotlight. The session relies on the contrast between the two soloists and the accompaniment of a sextet, with an approach that maintains the small-ensemble style.
European CD edition published in 2010 by Essential Jazz Classics; stereo reissue with catalogue number EJC55449.
