Each suite combines dance movements from the French tradition with the German structure, and includes customary opening preludes, allemandes, courantes, sarabandes and gigues that showcase the contrapuntal richness of the Baroque.
The recording was released in 1990 and consists of 2 CDs. It is part of the Galleria collection from Archiv Produktion and has been remastered.
