«Alone, for a Second» is the album by Erik Satie with arrangements and direction by Thomas Wilbrandt, released in 1991 by Decca on CD.
The disc brings together fourteen pieces by Erik Satie in contemporary versions conceived by Thomas Wilbrandt and performed with the Modern Sinfonietta. The repertoire alternates the well-known Gymnopédies with less common compositions, treated with atmospheric instrumentation and clean digital production that underscores the French composer's minimalism.
The recording, on CD, was released by Decca on 5 December 1991 with digital production.
Aimed at those seeking new orchestral readings of Erik Satie and fans of contemporary classical music.
