«Alma Del Sur» is a compilation of South American folk music released by Narada on CD in 1992.
The album brings together eight artists and groups —Bernardo Rubaja, Junior Homrich, Rumillajta, Nando Lauria, Gurrufío, Carlos Guedes, Ancient Future and Roberto Perera— in a collection of instrumental pieces and traditional songs from the subcontinent. The cover, with pre-Columbian motifs, reinforces the Andean and American character of the compositions.
For those seeking an entry point to South American folk music on CD, with a varied selection of performers from different countries in the region.
